ANV Group Holdings has rebranded Specialty Comp Insurance Solutions as ANV Comp, following its acquisition of the business from Hub International in June.

ANV Comp wrote approximately $250 million in gross written premium in 2025, providing workers' compensation solutions to middle-market employers through an established wholesale distribution network.

Robert Etzler, who joined ANV in March 2026, will lead ANV Comp, bringing more than 20 years of workers' compensation and specialty insurance experience from prior senior roles at Arrowhead General Insurance Company, Atlas General Insurance Company, Midwestern Insurance Alliance and Paragon Insurance Holdings. He will also oversee Risico, ANV's workers' comp MGA focused on agriculture and food manufacturing, and will work alongside Mike Beck, chief field underwriting officer, and Matt Feury, senior vice president of underwriting, both of whom led the business before the acquisition and remain in place.

Adam Karkowsky, ANV's chairman and CEO, framed the rebrand as more than cosmetic.

"This is much more than a name change. ANV Comp reflects our conviction in the strength of the business, our commitment to the workers' compensation sector, and our ambition to continue building a leading specialty insurance platform across the United States. We see significant opportunities to support our brokers with additional underwriting expertise and product capabilities, and a high level of bespoke committed service," Karkowsky said.

A platform built from three separate deals in a single year

This rebrand caps what has been an unusually active year for ANV's workers' compensation ambitions specifically. Insurance Business reported on the original SCIS acquisition when it closed in June, noting the deal followed a series of initiatives ANV disclosed earlier in 2026, including a March agreement to acquire London-based Iris Insurance Brokers to add UK distribution capabilities and Lloyd's market access.

Just days after closing the SCIS deal, ANV separately acquired Associated Specialty Insurance Agency, a 30-year-old Pennsylvania wholesale agency also focused on workers' compensation, meaning ANV completed three distinct acquisitions relevant to this single specialty line within roughly the same month. Risico itself, the MGA Etzler now also oversees, has its own layered history: AmTrust originally acquired the business in 2022 before spinning it off into ANV in 2025, meaning ANV Comp now sits atop three previously separate ownership lineages consolidated under one brand.

That rapid-fire dealmaking gives Karkowsky's framing of the SCIS founders added weight; the founders themselves said at the time of the original sale that "parting with SCIS is not a decision we took lightly, we very rarely sell businesses," a detail suggesting ANV's acquisition terms and platform vision were compelling enough to draw out a founder-led MGA that had otherwise held onto ownership.

Why this matters for brokers and wholesale partners

For wholesale brokers who placed business with SCIS, ASIA or Risico independently before this consolidation, the ANV Comp brand is worth engaging directly to understand how underwriting appetite, submission processes and broker relationships are being unified across what were previously three separate operations with their own leadership and carrier relationships.

ANV Comp's continued partnership with a single A- rated carrier for capacity, combined with Etzler's mandate to expand product offerings and market presence, suggests brokers should expect the platform to actively pursue broader appetite and possibly new product lines beyond the individual businesses' historical niches, workers' comp for agriculture, temporary staffing, construction and other hard-to-place middle-market risk, rather than simply operating the three legacy businesses side by side under a shared name.
