Chubb has named Marcos Gunn to the position of senior vice-president of Chubb Group and regional vice president of Latin America.

In his new role, Gunn will have overall responsibility for the general management and business results for all operations in the Latin America region, a release said. The Latin America region includes Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Puerto Rico, Central America, and the Caribbean.

Gunn is currently the division president for Northern Latin America (which consists of Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean) as well as chief operating officer of the Latin America region.

As group SVP and regional vice president, Gunn will report to Chubb overseas general insurance operations president Juan Luis Ortega. Gunn will also retain his current responsibilities until a successor is announced.

Gunn has over 20 years of insurance industry experience – 19 of those with spent with Chubb/ACE. When ACE completed its acquisition of Chubb in 2016, Gunn was appointed president of the Northern Latin America region, in addition to his role as chief operating officer for Latin America. He joined ACE in 2000 and since then has served in a number of management roles, such as country president of Chile, regional vice president of accident and health for Latin America, and regional vice president of accident and health for Asia Pacific.

Prior to joining ACE, Gunn served as a commercial insurance underwriter at Chubb in Argentina, as well as underwriting and management positions at other insurers. He has a degree in business administration from the Catholic University of Buenos Aires.

"I am so pleased to appoint Marcos to this role," said Chubb executive vice president and chief operating officer John Keogh.

Keogh also mentioned that Gunn has a long and proven track record, having led insurance businesses in both the Latin America and Asia Pacific regions.

“Marcos is the perfect executive to lead the Latin America region,” added overseas general insurance operations president Juan Luis Ortega. “He has served as a country president multiple times, led the A&H business in two regions of the world, and more recently, overseen the impressive business results from our Mexican operations. His underwriting and product experience spans commercial property and casualty, A&H and personal lines.”
