Chubb has appointed Jennifer Burnham (pictured) as senior vice president and digital distribution and revenue officer for its North America small and lower midmarket division. Robert Poliseno, division president of Chubb North America small and lower midmarket, confirmed the appointment via LinkedIn.
Burnham will lead performance and growth across Chubb's digital and field distribution channels. Her mandate covers expanding the carrier's Marketplace platform and API-enabled assets - the digital infrastructure through which independent agents quote, bind, and service small commercial accounts with Chubb.
Burnham brings two decades of commercial P&C experience spanning underwriting, program management, and digital distribution. At The Hartford, where she spent 15 years, she held senior roles, including head of the small commercial construction practice and director of book consolidation underwriting. She also served as regional director of small commercial underwriting.
Before Chubb, she served as division vice president of business development and marketing for Great American Insurance Group's alternative markets division. There she led origination and expansion of program, MGA, and distribution partnerships.
Her construction insurance and program background adds depth to a role centered on digital channel growth. The Chubb Marketplace supports placement across standard and specialty lines, including business owner's policy, management and professional liability, workers' compensation, and commercial auto.
Burnham also held roles in alternative risk at The Hartford, including management of group and agency captives and senior program management of wrap-up construction programs.
She holds a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation and a Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS) credential. Burnham earned a bachelor of science from Louisiana Christian University and an executive MBA from the University of Hartford. In 2021, Insurance Business America named her to its Elite Women list.
Independent agents wrote 87.7% of commercial lines written premiums in the US in 2025, according to the Big "I" 2026 Market Share Report, published in June by the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA). The report draws on AM Best premium data across all 50 states.
Chubb's investment in small commercial digital distribution dates to 2018, when the carrier launched the Marketplace platform for independent agents. The platform has since expanded across a growing range of commercial lines and industry segments, with Burnham now leading its next phase of growth.
