Everest Re Group scoops up new marketing executive

Everest Re Group has announced the appointment of Stephanie Merkel as vice president of marketing and communications. In her new role, Merkel will lead the day-to-day operations of the marketing and communications team toward the implementation of Everest’s global marketing plan. She will be based in Philadelphia and report to Dane Lopes, head of marketing and communications for Everest Re Group.

Prior to joining Everest, Merkel served in a variety of senior marketing capacities for Chubb’s North America operation. She has also held various marketing and communications positions at AIG.

“Stephanie’s rich industry background across many business segments, and her depth of communications experience, makes her an outstanding addition to the Everest marketing and communications team,” Lopes said. “Stephanie will work closely with me, our executive team, and the marketing and communications group to focus on promoting the strategic vision of Everest Re Group, Ltd., to our many stakeholders: our current and prospective customers, employees, investors and analysts, and the communities in which we live and work.
