Everest Reinsurance, the reinsurance division of Everest Re Group, has announced the appointment of Jiten Voralia as senior vice president and head of treaty casualty and surety, effective June 6. Voralia (pictured above) will report to Jill Beggs, head of North America reinsurance.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jiten to our Everest team,” Beggs said. “His deep technical and underwriting background, combined with broad experience in the US and globally, brings a unique and well-rounded perspective to our treaty casualty and surety portfolio. Jiten’s leadership and skill set will be invaluable in the current environment, helping us to identify and respond to the rapidly evolving needs of our brokers and clients. I look forward to working closely with Jiten as we continue to strengthen our treaty casualty and surety portfolio with new and innovative solutions.”

Voralia has more than two decades of experience in the reinsurance sector. In his new role, he will drive the development and execution of the underwriting strategy and lead the strategic direction of Everest’s treaty casualty and surety portfolio. Prior to joining Everest, Voralia served as head of US global casualty treaty underwriting at Swiss Re.

He also served in various actuarial and casualty treaty underwriting roles as Swiss Re, including head of pricing in Asia, Australia and New Zealand and head of casualty treaty underwriting for Australia, New Zealand and the US. Before Swiss Re, he served as a reinsurance pricing actuary at Aon (previously Benfield) in London and Sydney and as a general insurance actuarial consultant at PwC in London.

Voralia will succeed Dennis Alba, who has announced his retirement after a 40-year career in the industry.
