Hiscox Re Insurance Linked Strategies, an ILS asset-management arm of Hiscox, has named Dr. Ben Fox portfolio manager for its Bermuda-based ILS investment team, the company has announced.

Prior to his role at Hiscox Re & ILS, Fox served as principal of insurance-linked securities for the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. In that role, Fox co-managed the plan’s ILS portfolio and was responsible for all analytics, including portfolio construction and optimization capabilities. Fox holds a master’s degree in earth sciences and a PhD in seismology from the University of Oxford.
