Hub International Limited has acquired the assets of FGLP Equity Partners LLC, operating as Demarie Insurance Agency. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Demarie Insurance, based in Lake Charles, Louisiana, provides commercial and personal insurance services. Following the transaction, the Demarie Insurance team will join Hub Gulf South.
Shaun Norris, president of Hub Gulf South, said the addition of Demarie Insurance aligns with the firm’s strategy to expand its capabilities and strengthen its regional presence.
Principal Aric Pohorelsky and the Demarie Insurance team will transition to Hub Gulf South. Pohorelsky said the move provides access to additional resources through Hub.
Demarie Insurance will operate as Demarie Insurance, a Hub International company.
The acquisition is part of Hub International’s ongoing mergers and acquisition strategy, which plays a central role in its growth model. Hub has remained active in acquiring firms across North America, focusing on those that enhance its service capabilities, extend its geographic reach, or offer specialized expertise. The firm continues to target opportunities in key sectors such as commercial and personal insurance, employee benefits, retirement planning, and risk advisory.
Hub’s approach typically includes retaining local leadership and branding to maintain client continuity, while integrating firms into its broader platform to scale service delivery. Its strategy also involves expansion into emerging areas such as digital distribution and embedded insurance.
As part of its continued push into employee benefits and risk consulting, Hub recently acquired the assets of EB Specialists Inc., operating as Guru of Insurance, and Allegiant Global Partners (AGP). Financial terms for both transactions were not disclosed.
Guru of Insurance, based in King George, Virginia, provides employee benefits planning and group benefits services. David Rao, president of Guru of Insurance, and his team will join Hub Mid-Atlantic. The firm will operate as Guru of Insurance, a Hub International company.
AGP, headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, advises global employers on international health, welfare, and risk strategies. Its clients include international NGOs, higher education institutions, and domestic nonprofit organizations.
