Insurance Business has revealed the Best Insurance Networks and Alliances in the USA for 2026, with this year’s survey finding that agents are looking beyond carrier access and commissions when evaluating their network relationships.
The Insurance Business America 5-Star Networks and Alliances 2026 survey found that the networks and alliances earning agent loyalty are increasingly being assessed on the support they provide to day-to-day agency operations, including technology, training, administrative assistance, and business consultation.
The findings come as independent agencies increase their use of artificial intelligence. Two-thirds of independent agencies plan to increase their AI use over the next 12 months, according to the Big “I” Agents Council for Technology.
AI tools are increasingly being used for functions such as quoting, policy comparison, and administrative tasks, potentially reducing some of the operational work involved in running an independent agency.
That shift has implications for the role of insurance networks and alliances. As technology takes on more routine functions, agents surveyed by Insurance Business America indicate that network value is increasingly tied to services and expertise that support agency operations beyond access to markets.
Insurance Business America surveyed insurance agents nationwide and asked them to rate their network or alliance across 10 criteria. Respondents scored each category on a scale of one to five, with one representing poor performance and five representing excellent performance.
The 10 criteria were:
Networks and alliances that achieved an average score of four or greater in at least one category received a 5-Star designation. Those that earned an average score of five or higher across all categories received All-Star status.
