Liberty Mutual has appointed Kelly B. Proctor to the role of branch executive in the Mid-Atlantic region, where she will serve the Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Virginia areas.

As part of her new responsibilities, Proctor will partner with key brokers in the Mid-Atlantic region to offer a range of commercial and specialty insurance coverage from both Liberty Mutual and Ironshore, a release said.

Proctor will report to Liberty Mutual senior vice-president, Mid-Atlantic regional executive David Russo.

She has more than two decades of industry experience, having served several leadership roles and underwriting positions with specialty insurers, in both commercial and personal lines. Proctor was most recently regional sales manager with AmTrust North America, where she was responsible for the oversight of the regional distribution channels of retail agencies in Virginia and Eastern North Carolina.

Prior to working with AmTrust, Proctor was an agency specialist with Westfield Insurance – a role she served in for seven years. Before that, she was a senior middle market underwriter with Westfield. Other roles she’s served in the past include being an agent for BB&T Insurance (focused on commercial lines P&C, surety/fidelity bonds, and risk retention program business) as well as a personal and commercial lines wholesale underwriter with various specialty insurance companies such as American Agency Associates.

“We are pleased to announce that Kelly has joined our nationwide network of distribution executives,” said Russo. “She is recognized for her industry knowledge, as well as her abilities to provide solutions and build strong relationships.”
