NFP has named Sarah Griffith senior vice president of property and casualty (P&C) and market leader for Atlanta and Nashville, extending a pattern of regional build-out that has included a Nashville-area acquisition and a new captive practice under the same leadership line.
Griffith will be based in Atlanta and report to Meg McSherry, managing director of P&C for NFP's Atlantic region, the company said in a statement. She joins from Marsh Risk, where she spent nearly five years before moving to NFP as senior vice president, property/casualty, and market leader for Atlanta and Nashville.
"We are thrilled to welcome Sarah to the team as we continue to expand our commercial P&C presence in the Atlantic region," McSherry said. "Sarah brings deep industry expertise, a strong client-first mindset and a proven ability to address the distinct needs of complex and middle-market clients."
Griffith's appointment slots into a broader pattern of activity under McSherry's Atlantic region leadership. NFP acquired Levine Group, a Brentwood, Tennessee, financial services firm serving the Nashville area since 1963, in July 2025. And in March 2026, the region launched a new P&C group captive practice through the acquisition of Charlotte-based Trinity Risk Advisors. Both moves fall within the same reporting structure Griffith now joins.
Griffith brings close to two decades of experience in commercial insurance and risk management, NFP said, and has advised complex corporate and middle-market clients through difficult market conditions, major transactions and significant claims. She has led financial and professional liability placements and developed risk strategies for Fortune 100 companies, according to the release. Griffith was named an Insurance Business America Rising Star in 2020.
"I am excited to join the dynamic and innovative NFP P&C team," Griffith said. "NFP's highly specialized expertise and collaborative approach sets the organization apart. I look forward to building on the strong foundation already in place across Atlanta and Nashville."
The hire comes as brokers adjust to a changed rate environment. Average commercial P&C premiums fell in the first quarter of 2026 for the first time in nearly nine years, ending a 33-quarter run of increases, with the steepest relief in commercial property, workers' compensation, cyber and directors and officers liability, according to a market report from IMA Financial Group. Middle-market mergers and acquisitions are also expected to remain a defining feature of brokerage strategy through the rest of 2026, per separate industry analysis.
Against that backdrop, reinforcing dedicated regional leadership in Atlanta and Nashville fits a strategy several brokers are now leaning on as pricing power fades and competition shifts toward service depth and local relationships.
NFP, an Aon company, provides property and casualty brokerage, benefits consulting, wealth management and retirement plan advisory services across the US, Canada, the UK, Ireland and Puerto Rico. Griffith's appointment follows other recent moves within the firm's broader Atlantic region leadership team.
