RIC Insurance General Agency has announced the appointment of Gary Wells (pictured) as business development manager. In the role, Wells will work to expand RIC’s commercial and personal lines marketing efforts, working primarily with insurance agents and brokers in the San Francisco Bay area.

Prior to joining RIC, Wells spent 11 years as a senior sales executive with Travelers, specializing in select small business. While at Travelers, he ranked as a top producer in the California region. Before that, he spent 13 years as an independent agent. He began his career as a commercial underwriter for Ohio Casualty.

“With 30 years of experience as an underwriter, independent agent and senior sales executive, I understand what it takes to find solutions for our producers,” Wells said. “I look forward to developing new and ongoing productive relationships with RIC agents and helping them place challenging commercial and personal accounts.”

“Gary brings a wealth of sales and insurance experience to the position, having spent more than three decades focused on finding optimal coverage for clients,” said Chris Garrison, RIC’s vice president of business development. “Gary will be an asset to RIC and our retail agents and carrier partners.”
