RIC Insurance General Agency has announced a new addition to its professional lines executive line-up.

The company has revealed that Michele Epstein will come on board as vice president of management and professional lines. In her new capacity, she will contribute to the production, enhancement and expansion of the company’s specialty offerings for its agency partners.

Previously, Epstein served as vice president and broker for AP Specialty, with a similar focus on professional and management liability. She joined the organization as part of ELM Insurance Brokers, which was acquired by AP Specialty.

“Michele is a true professional in every sense of the word.  In addition to her retail and wholesale broker experience, she has earned MLIS, AAI, AIS, CPIW and DAE designations in her field of expertise,” Tom Clansen, senior vice president, commercial brokerage and underwriting at RIC Insurance General Agency, said  in a company statement.

“She brings brokerage and leadership experience, as well as a desire to build our management and professional liability lines of business. We are very excited to have Michele on our team.”

Meanwhile credit ratings firm AM Best said in January that it anticipates a “robust” performance from professional lines providers this year. D&O providers are expected to initiate growth by focusing on value added offerings through coverage enhancements.

“In addition, some insurers may need to tighten coverage terms, increase deductibles, or step away from accounts that have poor loss experience in order to meet profitability goals going forward,” a report on the AM Best forecast said.
