Jacqueline Waters (pictured) has spent her career at the intersection of law, claims, and financial services - a vantage point that gives her an unusually clear view of where the industry is headed and what it costs when people get it wrong. At InsuranceFest this July, she’s bringing both of those perspectives to the pier.

“I’m excited to see how they have curated the variety of sessions this year and what leaders will have to say about AI,” Waters said. “I will be speaking about the career journey I have undertaken and what were key moments and how those can be relevant to the next generation of leaders in our industry.”

Waters is a managing director and practice leader in Aon’s Financial Services Group, where her work spans the legal and claims complexities that most professionals in this industry only encounter when something has already gone seriously wrong. The combination of technical depth and honest reflection she’s describing - AI as a present-tense business reality, career pivots as something worth examining out loud - is unusual at this level.

The AI angle is worth noting. Waters isn’t someone who talks about technology in the abstract. Her practice lives in the consequences: the claims, the disputes, the decisions that look different in hindsight than they did at the time. When she watches what leaders have to say about AI at InsuranceFest, she’ll be listening for the gap between the promise and the liability.

The career story is the other half of this. Waters has navigated a path that didn’t follow the most obvious route, and she’s willing to say so. For the next generation of insurance leaders - who are being asked to make significant bets on both technology and their own trajectories - that kind of candor from someone who has done it is worth more than most panels will admit.
