The Hanover Insurance Group has announced the appointment of John C. Roche as its new president and chief executive officer, effective Nov ember 04. Roche will succeed Joseph M. Zubretsky, who has accepted a position in the healthcare industry.

Roche, who has more than 30 years of property and casualty experience, currently serves as president of Hanover Agency Markets. In that capacity, he is in charge of The Hanover’s personal and commercial lines business. He has served on the company’s executive leadership team since 2008.
