Alliant Insurance Services started nearly a century ago as a small, storefront operation in San Diego. Today it’s a national company with 9,000 employees, more than $3 billion in revenue and more than $26 billion in premium.

And Alliant has continued to thrive in the challenging business environment presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. That continued success led to its inclusion on IBA’s 2022 Fast Brokerages list.

One of the largest insurance brokerage firms in the US, Alliant’s services span the fields of property and casualty insurance, employee benefits, underwriting and consulting.

The company also values employee input and collaboration. Alliant maintains a flat management structure so that employees can play a direct role in its success. As a result, Alliant has had great success attracting and retaining high-performing insurance professionals. This approach fosters creativity and innovation – and allows the company to adapt to changing business conditions.

“The onset of the pandemic required us to adapt quickly to a new way of working, and we were able to quickly and professionally respond in numerous ways,” said Greg Zimmer, president of Alliant. “This included seamlessly moving our national employee base to a remote work environment while maintaining strong connections, both to our clients and colleagues.”

Alliant is also committed to supporting the communities in which it operates. The company said that its own success is inextricably linked to the success of its communities.

“While Alliant has grown and evolved significantly over 97 years in the business, our roots of service and expertise remain unchanged and continue to guide our efforts as we grow and expand,” Zimmer said.

The company is currently in the midst of a significant expansion driven by organic growth, strategic acquisitions and the recruitment of talent in insurance brokerage, employee benefits, underwriting and consulting.
