Windhaven Insurance has appointed John D. Rosilier to serve as its newest chief financial officer.

In his new role, Rosilier will manage the financial performance and develop operational and/or capital plans for both Windhaven Insurance and The Hearth Insurance Group, a release said.

Rosilier most recently served as senior vice-president and chief financial officer of the P&C division of National Lloyds Insurance Corporation – the Dallas-based subsidiary of Hilltop Holdings. At National Lloyds, Rosilier was responsible for a restructuring effort that helped the company secure an “A” rating from A.M. Best.

He has also spent nearly two decades serving United Services Automobile Association (USAA), in San Antonio, as vice-president and CFO. He was additionally an assistant VP for USAA’s financial and enterprise planning and analysis division.

Rosilier has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Actuarial Science from the University of Texas at Austin. Most notably, he holds a patent for a “Consumer-level financial performance analysis,” which is a method for evaluating customers’ product profitability.

“We are excited to have John join our executive leadership team,” commented Windhaven Insurance and The Hearth Insurance Group CEO Jimmy E. Whited. “John has an impressive track record in the industry that includes extensive financial and leadership experience with large insurance players.”

Whited added that Rosilier’s appointment will help the company as it enters new funding opportunities with its own insurtech company – ClutchAnalytics.
