Worldwide Facilities has acquired the surplus lines managing general agent Clearwater Underwriters.

Clearwater Underwriters was originally established in 1991 to help retail agents place excess flood coverage in the state of Florida. The Clearwater, FL-based company has since diversified its product range to include flood, professional liability, personal and commercial lines.

“We are delighted to have the Clearwater team join Worldwide Facilities,” said Worldwide Facilities CEO Davis Moore.

Moore added that Clearwater Underwriters has been building a “successful underwriting business” for nearly 30 years, and that Worldwide Facilities is excited to help the Clearwater team continue its growth while broadening Worldwide Facilities’ specialty programs.

“This procurement is a natural next step for Clearwater and will be advantageous to our customer base, markets and employees,” commented Clearwater Underwriters senior vice-president Guy Waters. “We look ahead to this great opportunity to join the Worldwide Facilities family and add to their already robust and successful business model.”

“We are extremely pleased to be joining the Worldwide Facilities team, and look forward to expanding our capabilities while continuing to provide a broad range of services and benefits to our affiliates,” stated Clearwater Underwriters president Don Waters Jr.

In June, Worldwide Facilities acquired Royal Oak Underwriters. Based in Richmond, VA, Royal Oak is an excess and surplus lines insurance wholesaler that offers a range of specialty products to retail agents in Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Tennessee.
