Zurich Life & Investments has expanded its operations team by appointing Suzi Leung as its new chief claims officer (CCO), effective immediately.

Before taking on the new role, Leung was the chief operations officer (COO) of Zurich General Insurance since January 2021. Before that, she spent two years as the head of operational services and delegated claims, and eight years in different claims and operational roles within Zurich Australia, Switzerland, and North America, with roles and responsibilities ranging from personal injury claims and business transformation to oversight of Zurich's real estate assets in Australia and New Zealand.

As the new CCO of Zurich Life & Investments operations team, Leung will focus on maintaining Zurich's claims approach and delivering on its claims transformation journey. She will report to Zurich Life & Investments COO Hilary Bates.

Leung, who will continue in her current position as COO for general insurance until mid-March, commented: “I look forward to continuing my journey at Zurich and will maintain our best in market claims philosophy by approaching each claim with care and empathy. This is especially important as we migrate our OnePath retails claims onto Claims Vantage.”

Zurich has been expanding its Life & Investments leadership team since the beginning of 2022, with Leung's appointment following the entrance of Ahmad Racheha as the new head of digital and member engagement.
