Independent reinsurance broker BMS Re has announced the appointment of Scott Christian as executive vice president of catastrophe analytics. Christian will be based in Atlanta and will report to Kirk Conrad, global head of analytics for BMS.

Christian has more than 19 years of catastrophe and risk management experience. Before joining BMS Re, he served as senior vice president and catastrophe team lead at Guy Carpenter. Christian has also served as vice president of predictive analytics at Tower Hill Insurance Group and vice president and head of accumulation at AXIS Insurance. He began his career in 2002 as a risk analyst at Aon Benfield.

“At BMS Re, we are exceptionally proud of our analytics team and the talent we continue to attract,” said Pete Chandler, president and CEO of BMS Re. “We are providing our clients with the best possible service, meaning we will continue to grow and invest in our analytics, talent and technology. With that in mind, we are enthused to announce Scott’s appointment. He is an extremely experienced and motivated individual and will be a fantastic addition to our team. I am delighted to welcome him on board.”

“Scott is a highly talented risk management professional, and I look forward to working with him as we continue to build on the great success we have had through the launch of our Pathlight Analytics platform by focusing on ‘answers, not input’ for our clients,” Conrad said. “We are excited by the platform we have assembled and the tremendous opportunities we see as we continue to invest significantly in the Pathlight Analytics platform.”
