Brit has appointed James Patterson as vice-president of cyber & technology, and Ryan Mimmo as vice-president of cyber & technology for Brit Global Specialty USA (BGSU).

In their new roles, both Patterson and Mimmo will report to senior vice-president of cyber & technology Jeff Norton. Patterson will be based in San Francisco, with Mimmo in New York.

A release said that Patterson and Mimmo will be responsible for underwriting and supporting the continued growth of BGSU’s cyber and technology offering.

Patterson joins from AIG, where he was a cyber specialist. In that role, he was educating clients and insurance brokers on cyber exposures and loss prevention measures. Before that, he was a senior underwriter at AIG, specializing in cyber and technology coverage.

Mimmo was most recently with NAS Insurance, where he was assistant vice-president of technology E&O and cyber liability. He has also worked for companies such as Zurich North America, Marsh & McLennan Companies and ACE, having served in several claims and underwriting roles across cyber, technology and professional liability.

“We are pleased to announce these two high caliber hires, strengthening our fast growing cyber and technology offering in the US,” said Brit Americas president Nick Davies. “Both Jim and Ryan bring extensive experience in the cyber and technology space and underscore our continued investment in this class. We look forward to them supporting the expansion of our client offering.”
