Great American Insurance Group has announced the promotion of Elizabeth M. Shepherd (pictured above) to divisional president of cyber risk.

Shepherd has 33 years of industry experience, including more than two decades of experience in both the brokerage and carrier sides of cyber insurance.

Shepherd joined Great American in 2018 as a divisional senior vice president. In that role, she was instrumental in consolidating Great American’s cyber risk products and programs, the company said in a press release.

Shepherd oversees Great American’s cyber initiatives and existing cyber underwriting operations. She also coordinates product management and the development of all Great American cyber risk products.

Great American has provided customized cyber risk products and programs for more than a decade. In 2018, the company’s cyber risk division was formally organized. Great American’s cyber products are designed for small and medium-sized businesses.

Great American recently announced an expansion of its partnerships to improve its kidnap and ransom insurance business. It also recently expanded PolicySweet, its digital insurance platform.
