Golf has long been where insurance deals get made. A growing number of women in the industry are making sure they have a seat at that table.

Fore.Sure, a network connecting women in insurance and risk management, holds its second annual Fore.Sure Classic on September 12. The venue is The Links at Terranea in Rancho Palos Verdes, California. Presented by Amwins, the nine-hole shotgun tournament draws players from across the insurance and risk management sector.

Why golf, and why now

The sport has historically served as an informal extension of the office for commercial insurance professionals, a setting where relationships form and referrals happen. Fore.Sure was built on the premise that women in the sector needed structured access to those same spaces.

The Classic is designed for golfers at all experience levels. The format puts participation ahead of competition. Check-in opens at 11:30 a.m., the shotgun start follows at 12:30 p.m., and a networking, giveaways, and awards session runs from 3:00 p.m.

Industry backing signals broader momentum

The tournament has attracted sponsorship from several industry names. Amwins holds the presenting sponsor position, with Lockton, Crawford & Company, Ledgebrook, and WCF Insurance also among the backers. That sponsor list reflects a broader industry conversation around professional access for women. The conversation has gained traction across brokerages and carriers over the past several years.

Amwins itself has had a visible presence in that conversation. Amwins placed two leaders on IBA's Elite Women 2026 list. They are Heather Frain, senior vice president and head of inland marine, and Nicole O'Brien, executive vice president and regional leader.

The Fore.Sure Classic is open to insurance and risk management professionals. Registration is available at the Fore.Sure Classic event page.
