Marsh McLennan names new climate executive

Marsh McLennan has announced the appointment of Francis Bouchard as managing director of climate within the Marsh McLennan Advantage team.

In his new role, Bouchard will be responsible for the team’s climate strategy and for developing and delivering products and services to help clients create resilient strategies for the future. He will work closely with executives and climate leaders in Marsh McLennan’s four businesses: Marsh, Guy Carpenter, Mercer and Oliver Wyman.

Prior to joining Marsh McLennan, Bouchard spent more than two decades with Zurich Insurance Group, serving in a series of global roles. Most recently, he served as the group head of public affairs and sustainability.

“Francis’s multidisciplinary experience in the insurance industry and across the sustainability, government and social impact areas will be essential in helping our clients navigate a path through the disruption of climate change,” said Greg Sinnott, executive director of Marsh McLennan Advantage.

“I look forward to partnering with Marsh McLennan’s leaders to advise clients through this period of transformation,” Bouchard said.

Bouchard serves as chairman of SBP, a non-profit disaster-resilience organization that works to address the impact of disasters on low-income populations. He is also a senior fellow of the Atlantic Council Resilience Center and a member of AGree Economic and Environmental Risk Coalition, which advocates for crop insurance reform to help incentivize sustainable agriculture practices.
