Orion180 Insurance Group has opened a new 40,000-square-foot headquarters in Melbourne, Florida, the first major operational step since its Nasdaq listing in September, with first-quarter public results due November 10.
The new building replaces a smaller facility in the same city, giving the carrier’s growing corporate team more space and bringing departments under one roof. The Melbourne headquarters is complemented by an office in Irving, Texas and a service centre in Salt Lake City, Utah.
“Orion180 has grown tremendously in just a few years, and our new headquarters reflects both how far we’ve come and our ambitions for the future,” said Ken Gregg, founder and chief executive. “Having a great place to work helps us attract and retain talented professionals, which ultimately translates into better experience for our customers, partner agents, and other business partners.”
The opening comes as the carrier prepares to report its first quarterly results as a public company. Orion180’s IPO in September raised $240 million but came in below its marketed range, with shares priced at $12 against a $15 to $17 target. Shares were trading at around $8.95 in mid-October when analyst coverage began, roughly 25% below the offer price. RBC Capital Markets, one of the lead underwriters, rates the stock outperform with a $15 target, describing the carrier as a diversified insurance operation with blue-chip reinsurance capacity and internalized fronting capability.
Orion180 distributes exclusively through more than 14,000 active independent agents and describes itself as the second-largest E&S homeowners insurer in the US by direct written premiums, with operations across 14 states. It sells E&S and admitted homeowners coverage, private flood insurance and ancillary products through its proprietary MY180 platform.
The carrier secured a $1.15 billion reinsurance tower for 2026, 36% larger than the prior year, with 41 reinsurers participating. Its S-1 filing showed $601 million in managed premiums written for the 12 months to June 30, 2026, and a move from a $3 million net loss in the first half of 2025 to net income of $13.5 million in the same period of 2026.
S&P Global Market Intelligence ranked Orion180 as the fastest-growing of the 10 largest E&S homeowners writers in the US in 2025, a period when the sector’s direct premiums reached $4.14 billion, up 29.5%. California, Florida and Texas account for around 64% of that market.
The Florida picture is changing. Citizens Property Insurance has cut its policy count to approximately 270,000, and 21 carriers have entered the market since the 2022 and 2023 legislative reforms, with average premiums falling in 51 of the state’s 67 counties in the first half of 2026. November 10 will be the first opportunity for Orion180 to show investors and agents how its book is positioned as that competitive environment develops.
