Slide Insurance Holdings raised its full-year 2026 net income forecast to $500 million to $520 million and doubled its credit facility to $1.07 billion, as the Florida homeowners’ carrier reported a 24.5% rise in third-quarter net income and started writing residential business in Texas.
Gross premiums written rose 9.3% year-on-year to $506.6 million in Q3 2026. Net income reached $138.2 million, or $1.09 diluted earnings per share. The combined ratio rose to 59.3% from 48.5%, primarily reflecting $34.2 million in convective storm catastrophe losses that were absent in the prior-year period. The accident-year loss ratio, stripping out those losses and prior-period development, improved to 25.5% from 27.5%.
The guidance raise, from a prior range of $455 million to $470 million, includes up to $50 million in pre-tax losses from Hurricane Isaias, which made landfall near Destin on October 9 as a Category 2 storm after the quarter closed. The company also declared a one-time special dividend of $1.50 per share alongside its regular $0.07 quarterly dividend, both payable November 30.
On October 27, Slide entered into a new $1.07 billion credit agreement with a syndicate led by Huntington National Bank, replacing a $530.4 million facility. Drawn amounts initially carry interest 25 basis points below the previous rate. The company said the expanded facility gives it flexibility to move quickly on growth opportunities.
“Our expanded credit facility provides us with additional flexibility to pursue our long-term diversified growth strategy,” said chief financial officer Andy Omiridis.
Florida remains the core, but Slide is deliberately spreading its footprint. Gross premiums written grew 16.7% in the second quarter and 9.3% in the third. Full-year top-line guidance anticipates double-digit growth outside Florida alongside selective growth within the state. Bruce Lucas, chairman and chief executive, cited progress writing residential E&S policies in California, wider homeowners’ offerings in South Carolina and Rhode Island, and the start of Texas writing this month. The Texas product is an HO3 homeowners’ policy; Rhode Island receives a DP3 dwelling product for eligible rental and seasonal properties. Both are available to participating independent agents through Slide’s Violet platform.
Citizens Property Insurance’s policy count has fallen from a peak of around 1.4 million in September 2023 to roughly 270,000. Slide has been one of the most active takeout carriers, assuming 41,717 policies in 2026 through August 18, second only to Manatee Insurance Exchange. With the Citizens pipeline narrowing, the company’s geographic diversification is becoming more important to sustaining premium growth.
Since its June 2025 IPO, Slide estimates it will have returned $423.1 million to shareholders, comprising $192.2 million in dividends and $230.9 million in buybacks. The company has $114.1 million remaining under its repurchase program.
