Global specialty insurer and reinsurer Brit Limited has announced two new appointments to its recently launched private client team. Andrew Thorn has been named as a senior underwriter and Alex Brice has joined as an underwriter.

Thorn joins Brit from Chubb, where he was most recently a technical account manager. He has more than 15 years of industry experience, and has also served at A Plan Insurance.

Brice previously served at Hiscox, most recently as a senior development underwriter with a focus on high-net-worth homes, motor and overseas properties.

“Since launch, Brit Private Client has generated good momentum and we’ve been encouraged by the positive market reception, supporting our view that there is strong appetite for a genuine alternative to what is currently available,” said Brit CEO Matthew Wilson. “We have ambitions to grow into a meaningful player in this space, and the further growth of the team through these new hires supports this.”

“Andrew and Alex are both excellent additions and I’m pleased to welcome them to the team,” said Tara Parchment, head of Brit Private Client. “We want to differentiate Brit Private Client through the level of service we provide and our ability to create truly bespoke solutions for clients. Having a strong team is crucial to this, and I am therefore delighted that we are able to announce these two high-quality appointments."

Brit Private Client serves brokers and their clients in the high and ultra-high-net-worth market.
