Argo Group International Holdings, an international specialty underwriter of insurance and reinsurance products, has named David Higley its head of US property and inland marine.

Along with the company’s inland marine division, Higley will lead Argo Group’s newly formed US property unit, consisting of Alteris Property, Colony Specialty Property and Ariel Specialty Insurance Managers. He will report to Ron Vindivich, president of E&S for Colony Specialty.

Higley has nearly 30 years of industry experience. Prior to taking his position at Argo, he worked at The Hartford, where he served as vice president and head of the company’s marine and livestock segments. He’s also served as a market management executive at Allianz Global and Corporate Specialty, a senior vice president at Fireman’s Fund, vice president and COO at HONY Workers Compensation Trust, and branch vice president at Royal and Sun Alliance. He holds a bachelor’s degree from State University of New York in Albany.
