Oakbridge Insurance Agency has partnered with The Ormond Agency, a personal lines specialist based in Ormond Beach, giving the Top 50 brokerage its first East Coast Florida location. No financial terms were disclosed.
The Ormond Agency, led by principal Joe Lennartz, has built its practice around high-net-worth clients with higher-value homes, coastal properties and complex asset profiles - a segment where carrier appetite and underwriting requirements continue to vary sharply across Florida. The agency will keep operating from Ormond Beach with its existing team and client relationships in place.
Florida’s property market remains one of the most complex in the country for personal lines brokers. Premiums still run roughly three times the national average, and while conditions are beginning to ease - Edison Insurance filed for a 9.8% statewide rate decrease, Citizens Property Insurance Corp. is implementing an average 2.6% personal lines cut, and the state regulator reported lower home insurance rates in 51 counties as of early August - the market demands local knowledge that generalist brokers cannot easily replicate.
That is what Ormond brings. Lennartz and his team have spent years placing coastal and high-value property risks in a state where knowing which carriers are open, on what terms, and for which risk profiles is the difference between a clean placement and a frustrated client.
“Ormond brings the kind of market knowledge that matters in Florida, particularly when clients have more specialized property and personal insurance needs,” said Matt James, Oakbridge’s CEO.
The Ormond partnership is Oakbridge’s fourth in Florida since April 2023, when it entered the state through Hunnicutt Insurance Agency in Fort Walton Beach. It added Earl Bacon Agency of Tallahassee in May 2026, then Northeast Underwriters of St. Petersburg in September, establishing its first Tampa Bay presence. The East Coast addition completes a geographic spread that now covers the Panhandle, North Florida, the Gulf Coast and the Atlantic Coast.
For independent Florida agents, the Oakbridge model offers a path to national specialty resources without dismantling the local relationships that built the book. Ormond retains its team, its brand and its client-facing model; it gains access to the placement depth of a brokerage operating at scale.
For producers with high-net-worth Florida books, the stabilising rate environment adds a tactical dimension. Rates that fell for the first time in years give agents a reason to re-shop older policies on behalf of clients who may be over-paying relative to what the market now offers.
