XL Catlin has announced that it has made several enhancements to its online underwriting platform for brokers serving design professional clients.
The platform serves as a single-point access for brokers to rate, bind, and issue professional liability insurance coverage for architects, engineers, and other design professionals.
According to a release, the platform is now compatible on tablet and mobile formats. The system also integrates a “digitalized application” allowing a client to complete an online form and directly upload the form into the XL Catlin underwriting system.
“The design industry is dynamic and fast-paced. That’s why we’re speeding up the underwriting and delivery of professional liability insurance protection to keep pace with their quick-changing business demands and insurance needs,” commented XL Catlin design professional chief underwriting officer Douglas Strong in a statement.
“The design professional industry is growing because the need for their professional services is growing,” added XL Catlin design professional director of underwriting filed operations Nicole Mangino. “From the engineering services required for infrastructure projects to the design of new smart homes, our clients’ professional services are in high-demand and they need the right insurance products and limits to meet the heightened demand for their services profitably. This requires very responsive, fast insurance solutions.”
Mangino explained that thanks to the digital application process and XL Catlin’s “network of dedicated brokers,” design professional firms can expect quick turnarounds on their quotes for E&O insurance.
