SterlingRisk Insurance, one of the country’s top independently owned insurance brokerages, has announced the appointment of Kenneth J. Jones (pictured) as vice president. Jones brings with him more than 30 years of industry experience.

“Ken’s outstanding track record and strong industry reputation is an asset to both SterlingRisk and our clients,” said SterlingRisk CEO David Sterling. “Throughout his career, he has served as a business owner, a consultant, and a respected risk manager, often holding mentoring and leadership positions along the way. We welcome Ken and look forward to his contributions as he brings his keen understanding of insurance to SterlingRisk.”

Jones began his career with a large Long Island, N.Y., insurance firm and rapidly became its top-ranking risk manager. He then opened his own agency. Jones later sold the business and joined a major national agency, rising to become one of its top agents within 18 months. Jones’s areas of expertise include construction, real estate, the not-for-profit sector, and working to reduce client exposures and lover costs.

Jones is also active on the board of the Long Island chapter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. He is an endurance triathlete with three Ironman finishes and more than a dozen marathon finishes.
