CSAA Insurance Group has announced two promotions – the appointment of Paul Acevedo as executive vice president and chief information officer and Marlys Rodgers as chief information security officer.

Acevedo will lead CSAA’s technology organization in his new role as a member of the company’s executive leadership team. The organization is in charge of consumer- and agent-facing digital experiences, data and analytics platforms, core application systems, information security and foundational infrastructure.

He joined CSAA in 2011, having served in executive leadership roles for digital, data, telematics, and business architecture. Before joining, he held product and marketing leadership positions at companies such as BMC Software, ITM Software, Sun Microsystems and Terraspring.

In her new role, Rodgers will be responsible for designing the company’s IT security strategy, keeping internal and customer data secure. She will report to Acevedo. She will also drive CSAA’s security strategy, as well as day-to-day security operations.

Rodgers joins from PayPal, where she most recently served as both head of technology oversight and risk & compliance officer. She had also held several roles at American Express, where she served for 17 years. There, she last served as vice-president of operational risk, global risk, and compliance. She was also vice-chair for the new product approval committee and secretary for the enterprise operational risk management committee.
