Ellerbrock-Norris has enhanced its ENCORE Safety Network by appointing Cole Jones (pictured) as vice president of safety, tasked with leading the initiative.

Launched in 2020, the ENCORE Safety Network is a collaborative effort among companies advancing the promotion of workplace safety. The alliance includes firms from sectors such as construction, manufacturing, distribution, transportation, landscaping, among others.

The network offers its members a combination of digital and face-to-face training opportunities focused on safety protocols, compliance with OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards, workers’ compensation, and back-to-work programs.

Jones, who is also a vice president at national safety consulting firm SMI Safety, holds the OSHA 510, OSHA 500, and CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) designations. A combat veteran of the Army, he is a certified trainer in CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and first aid, confined spaces, powered industrial trucks, and scaffolding and rigging.

The expert’s experience in the industry working as an on-site safety consultant is expected to boost the ENCORE Safety Network’s relationships with specialized safety programs.

Commenting on the appointment, Ellerbrock-Norris president Elliot Bassett said: “We’ve made a name for ourselves in the safety education space. Cole helps us maintain that reputation, then will take it a step further by physically being there for our clients when it comes to workplace injuries and accidents.”

The key hire, whose priorities include implementing a round-the-clock assistance program for members, had this to say: “Every business knows safety is important for protecting its people and protecting its bottom line. The ENCORE Safety Network is a go-to resource for members, not only for education but also for action.

“We have big things in store that we will kick off right away. I’m excited for the opportunity to build this program, but even more excited for the value we’re able to bring to the clients of Ellerbrock-Norris.”
