Midlands Management Corporation, a wholesale broker and managing general agent focused on excess workers’ compensation, has appointed Alison Garahan to the role of Texas marketing representative.

Garahan will be responsible for driving Midlands sales strategies in the region, while accelerating growth by identifying opportunities and supporting the company’s network of agents and brokers, a release said.

The company mentioned in a release that Alison brings “successful sales experience and retail agency background” to the position.

“We are enthusiastic about Alison coming aboard.  Alison brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our sales and marketing team,” said Midlands Management executive vice-president Colin Caldwell. “Her background in retail insurance means that she really understands agents/brokers’ challenges and how best to address them.  And so we expect to continue to see accelerated growth in the Texas marketplace.”

Earlier this year, Midlands Management was acquired by Safety National Casualty. As a result of the transaction, Midlands Management is both a subsidiary of Safety National Casualty and a member of the Tokio Marine Group.
