RT Specialty, the wholesale distribution specialty of Ryan Specialty, has announced the launch of a new workers’ compensation program for restoration contractors.

The program is competitive for all areas of the restoration industry, including janitorial, dry cleaning, carpet, rug, and upholstery cleaning, the company said.

“RT Specialty’s national workers’ compensation practice has added an exclusive program for underserved restoration contractors,” said Jim Mitchell, executive vice president of RT Specialty’s national workers’ compensation practice. “Historically, placing risks in this industry has presented many challenges due to mold removal, reconstruction work, and additional exposures typical for the industry. Our exclusive program is available in many (and growing) states to serve your clients. We are thrilled to expand our specialty program offerings to include the restoration contractor program, allowing us to add another class of high-hazard industries to our specialized list of carriers.”

The program is exclusive to RT Specialty with a premium of up to $1,000 in the following states:

  • Alabama
  • Arkansas
  • Washington, D.C.
  • Connecticut
  • Colorado
  • Florida
  • Georgia
  • Iowa
  • Indiana
  • Illinois
  • Idaho
  • Kansas
  • Kentucky
  • Louisiana
  • Maine
  • Missouri
  • Montana
  • North Carolina
  • Nebraska
  • Nevada
  • Okalahoma
  • Pennsylvania
  • South carolina
  • South dakota
  • Tennessee
  • Texas
  • Utah
  • Virginia
  • Vermont
  • West Virginia

RT Specialty said it has additional competitive brokerage markets available for the remaining states.

RT Specialty’s national workers’ compensation practice has 10 other specialty programs, including trucking, healthcare, restaurants with delivery, and other hard-to-place classes.
