The Financial Services Commission of Ontario has issued a warning about a man with several aliases who is selling auto insurance without a license.

FSCO says that Wangro Antoun – who also goes by the names Yasser Antoun, Yasser Antoun-Debbo, Yaseer Debbo and Mano Faroq – is not licensed by either FSCO or the Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario to conduct business in the province.

“Police have charged this individual with fraud, false pretences, possession of property obtained by crime and uttered forged documents,” stated.

The man had been meeting with clients in coffee shops and retail malls, and was receiving cash for arranging false automobile insurance coverage.

Last month, FSCO issued a warning about an individual who was masquerading as a broker using a popular Canadian banking brand to peddle false auto insurance.

The warning stated that Hendrickson TD Insurance and an individual known as Mr. Yeme are not licensed to do insurance business in Ontario.

According to FSCO, the individual appeared to be “selling false auto insurance under the company Hendrickson TD Insurance. The individual also provided a phone number, 647-461-5540 and has been communicating via text messaging.”

Brokers are urged to remind clients that they should exercise caution if they are contacted by anyone using the phone number, name or under the company name Hendrickson TD Insurance.
