The Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) is warning consumers that Insurance In The 6ix is not licensed to conduct insurance business in Ontario.

FSCO has information that Insurance In The 6ix is using social media channels such as Instagram to advertise their services for arranging auto insurance. For an up-front fee, Insurance In The 6ix claims to provide quotes for auto insurance policies.

Insurance In The 6ix is not licensed or registered under Ontario law as an insurance company, insurance broker, insurance brokerage, or as a corporate insurance agency.

Consumers should exercise caution if they encounter online promotions for Insurance In The 6ix or if they are contacted by anyone representing Insurance In the 6ix in the sale of insurance products.

Consumers should also be wary of requests for up-front fees from businesses or individuals purporting to arrange auto insurance on their behalf. A licensed insurance agent or broker generally does not charge you fees – he or she receives payment from the insurance company.
