After making a series of moves in New Mexico, Hub has once again turned its appetite north of the border to Canada.

Hub today announced it has acquired Gibson’s Insurance Agency Ltd., a Manitoba Canada-based insurance brokerage.

“Because Gibson’s agricultural clients are similar to Hub’s Manitoba client profile,” said Keith Jordan, president and CEO of Hub International Horizon, “they are in a great position to take advantage of Hub’s unique innovative insurance products developed for crop production, employee benefits, and life and estate planning.”

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Hub announced on Wednesday that it had purchased Free Market Insurance Agencies, LLC, an Albuquerque, N.M.-based insurance brokerage firm, with Free Market’s Albuquerque-based team relocating to Hub New Mexico’s newly-renovated Albuquerque headquarters, and Michael Dennis, President of Free Market, joining Hub New Mexico as a Client Executive, Vice President for the region.

It was the third New Mexico acquisition in the past 10 months for Hub International, which operates five offices in the state — Albuquerque, Carlsbad, Las Cruces, Las Vegas and Santa Fe.

Gibson’s will become part of the Hub International Horizon operations, and will broaden Hub’s local market reach and specializations throughout Manitoba.

Gibson’s has two locations in Treherne and Notre Dame de Lourdes, each of which will remain in operation. With the addition of these two offices, Hub will operate 22 locations throughout Manitoba.

Gibson’s is a general brokerage servicing government automotive insurance needs as well as maintaining a large agriculture/farming customer base.
