Earlier this week, a gunman entered Moka Espresso Bar in Woodbridge, Ontario and opened fire on café patrons, killing two and leaving two others seriously injured.

Rocco Di Paolo, president and CEO of Rock Anthony Insurance, is among those injured, according to CTV News. He remains in critical condition.

Di Paolo is an industry staple and even ran for mayor of Toronto in 2014. His agency was founded in 1981 and provides services to more than 10,000 individuals and 158 Canadian corporations, according to its website.

Police say video evidence of the incident indicates that the shooter entered the café “with a purpose.”

It is unclear if Di Paolo was a target, as the killer’s motives have yet to be revealed. The area has experienced four shootings in recent years, two of which were related to organized crime.
