Ecclesiastical Insurance has appointed Colin Robertson to serve as chief underwriting officer & vice president of risk control in Canada.

As chief underwriting officer, Robertson will provide national underwriting leadership and direction, helping Ecclesiastical push its profitable growth strategy and positioning the company for the future. He will report to Ecclesiastical president David Huebel.

Robertson joined Ecclesiastical Canada in 2008 from the company’s UK office. When he joined the Canadian operation, he first served as regional manager, central region and risk control manager. He has since held progressively senior positions, including acting CUO – which Roberson has held for the last twelve months, in addition to his other duties. He has more than 35 years of experience in the P&C industry, including 20 years with Ecclesiastical.

“Colin’s breadth of expertise and knowledge of the industry, our products and services make him the ideal candidate for this role,” commented Huebel. “Keeping our underwriting and risk control functions closely aligned makes sense for our business, as we continue to offer a truly integrated approach to our customers and brokers.”
