The Campbellford Memorial Hospital (CMH) Laboratory is getting a hand from Economical Insurance in the form of funding for a new chemistry analyzer. The $10,000 gift from Economical Insurance will go towards the $150,000 purchase cost of a new chemistry analyzer for monitoring the health and metabolic status of patients from three counties served by the hospital. The current chemistry analyzer used in the CMH Laboratory at 11 years old, is nearing the end of its life-span.

“We are proud to give back to Campbellford in association with Newman, Oliver & McCarten,” said Economical’s Chief Operating Officer, Tom Reikman. “Newman, Oliver & McCarten has been our trusted broker partner in serving the needs of the community for nearly 120 years. This donation meets a definite need at CMH and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to keeping the Campbellford and surrounding area a place where many people are proud to call home.”

It’s by no means the first time the carrier has shown such generosity to the hospital – in 2014, Economical covered the $12,909 purchase cost of a new microscope for the laboratory.

“We are thrilled that Economical Insurance continues to give back to our community,” said chair of the CMH Foundation and president of Newman, Oliver & McCarten Insurance Brokers Ltd., Calvin Newman  “We rely on donations for equipment purchases such as this. My company has represented Economical since 1895, and I am pleased to say that their generous donation will make a big difference to our hospital.”
