Global broker Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has announced the acquisition of A.H. Horn and Associates Limited in Toronto, Ontario.

Horn provides sales and leadership development programs and consulting services. It was established in 1984 and caters to diverse industries on a global scale.

The acquisition will bring the Horn team under the leadership of Sarah Beech, head of Gallagher’s benefits and HR consulting operation in Canada.

Chairman, president, and CEO J. Patrick Gallagher expressed his enthusiasm for the deal, the terms of which had not been disclosed.

“Horn has a strong market reputation whose expertise will enhance our leadership advisory capabilities, and they have a culture like ours,” he said. “I am very pleased to welcome the Horn team to Gallagher.”

Headquartered in Illinois, Gallagher has operations spanning approximately 130 countries.

Its latest acquisition in Canada comes after it swooped for the partnership interests of BCHR Holdings in April. BCHR Holdings operates as Buck and does business through the US, Canada and the UK. It is Gallagher’s largest HR acquisition to date, valued at $660 million.

Releasing its latest financial results, Gallagher reported the completion of 15 new mergers in the second quarter with approximately $349 million of estimated annualized revenue.

Overall, the global brokerage saw $235.8 million in total net earnings from $285.1 million in the same quarter last year.
