Swiss Re on Tuesday appointed Frank O'Neill as CEO of its UK & Ireland operations starting February 1.
O’Neill had most recently been the CEO of Swiss Re's Middle East and Africa business, where he had been for three years. Although his career at the company has spanned 18 years, including management of operations in Asia, the US and Switzerland. O'Neill joined Swiss Re as a Life & Health underwriter in 1998 in London.
He replaces Russell Higginbotham, who was appointed head of life & health reinsurance products in October.
Jean-Jacques Henchoz, CEO Reinsurance EMEA at Swiss Re, said, "As our largest European market we want the UK to continue to be led by a high-calibre leader to carry on the great work done over the last five years by Russell Higginbotham.”
