The executive committee of the Insurance Brokers Association (IBAO) announced recently that First Vice President Wendy DaSilva of Cornerstone Insurance Brokers Ltd. has stepped down from her role, effective immediately.

According to a release by the company, DaSilva resigned “to pursue opportunities outside of the independent broker distribution channel.”

DaSilva was originally expected to serve as the organisation’s president by 2018. Instead, Brian Purcell of James Purcell Insurance Broker Ltd. will assume the position of President in 2018.

“Wendy has dedicated five years to the IBAO Board of Directors, and we thank her for the contribution she has made to the association and the industry,” said IBAO chair Michael Brattman. “We wish Wendy all the best as she looks forward to spending more time with her family and fulfilling other ambitions outside of the industry.”

The IBOA executive board will not replace DaSilva’s position. According to a company release, the Executive and Board will continue to operate as a team of four executive members.
