The National Leadership Awards return for a sixth year, and one Quebecer will officially be inducted into the CIP Society Leadership Circle this Wednesday.

Established Leader Award honouree of 2014, Johanne Lépine, FPAA, will receive her award at the Institut d’assurance de dommages du Québec convocation on March 25, in Montreal, Que.

Lépine is the third of the 2014 honourees to be inducted into the CIP Society Leadership Circle during this year’s convocation season, following the official industry announcement in September of last year. Emerging Leader Adrian Osti, B.Comm, FCIP, CTDP, CRM and Established Leader Lynn Oldfield, MBA, CRM, FCIP, were inducted at the Insurance Institute of Ontario convocation in Toronto in January.

Recognizing excellence across Canada in the property and casualty insurance industry, the CIP Society is asking insurance professionals across the nation nominate deserving individuals.

“We look forward to recognizing Johanne Lépine,” says Peter Hohman, president and CEO of the Insurance Institute of Canada. “The Montreal convocation will mark both the end of the 2014 award period, and the opening of the call for nominations for the 2015 National Leadership Awards. We encourage members of our community to identify excellence in leadership among their peers by submitting a nomination.”

The unique program recognizes excellence across Canada in the property and casualty insurance industry.

Nominations will be accepted until June 1.

Previous winners have included Ginny Bannerman, James Cameron as Established Leaders; and Anne-Marie Deschenes, Lindsay Mackenzie and Tammie Norn as Emerging Leaders.

“Very, very honoured, I’m quite blown away by it,” Bannerman, vice president of Finance West, Intact Insurance in Calgary, Alta., told Insurance Business upon learning that she had been named as one of the two Established Leaders.

The awards program was launched in 2008 as part of the CIP Society’s 10th anniversary celebrations to publicly recognize industry professionals who make an outstanding commitment to their employers, the profession and the communities in which they live.
