International firm snaps up Canadian MGA

Acquisition is part of a significant growth strategy to expand the company’s footprint

Global insurance brokerage Hub International Limited has acquired Alberta-based MGA New Dimensions Underwriters, according to a news release. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

New Dimensions is a managing general agency based in Edmonton. Beginning life as the Davis Agency, New Dimensions has been an Edmonton institution since 1948. Its owner and president, Russ Davis, will join Hub Financial as part of its management team, according to the release.

Hub International, based in Chicago, provides casualty, life and health, employee benefits, investment and risk management products and services across North America. It’s pursuing a growth strategy to expand its footprint both organically and through acquisitions.
