SSQ Financial Group has appointed Jean-François Chalifoux as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer.
Most recently, Chalifoux was responsible for the overall strategic direction of Desjardins Life Insurance and oversaw its business development activities across Canada. He officially takes over at SSQ on Sept 21.
"The selection committee was charged with selecting the best candidate to maintain the focus on growth, performance and profitability, and truly embrace the values of commitment and solidarity that have made our company what it is today,” said Pierre Genest, Chairman of the Board of SSQ Financial Group.
“Throughout the selection process, Jean François's extensive knowledge of market changes and confident approach to innovation clearly set him apart from the other candidates."
Chalifoux has held a number of executive positions with major pan-Canadian insurers, both in general insurance and life and health insurance.
