A new online service launched yesterday that allows consumers to purchase used cars entirely online.

Zoom.ca promises to make online used car purchasing transparent and convenient. Visitors to the site can view 360° models of the used cars being offered, customize their financing options, place a deposit, purchase protections and insurance, and even sign off on any relevant documents—all from just a single website.

"After conducting extensive Canadian research on the used car purchasing experience, we learned that 52.4% of consumers wanted to complete their purchase online," said Zoom.ca co-founder Dan Allison. "Consumers can order electronics, vacations and clothing online. It is clearly time for the auto industry to enter the digital sphere.”

Only high-quality pre-owned vehicles are retailed on Zoom.ca, where they undergo a rigorous certification process involving extensive testing that lasts two and a half hours.

Aside from offering 360° views of the cars being sold, Zoom.ca also highlights any blemishes the vehicles may have no matter how minor. A complimentary CarProof report is also provided online for prospective buyers, which details full vehicle history.

A release from the company claims that the service is a first for Canada, allowing buyers to complete their purchase of a pre-owned car entirely online. The average customer, the release added, should be able to complete the purchasing process within 10 minutes.

"Canadians seek three primary things when looking for a used vehicle: a good deal, clear, transparent pricing, and a quick, efficient process. Zoom.ca was developed to deliver all of these," Allison said.

Vehicles purchase on Zoom.ca will be conveniently delivered to the customer’s door. Delivery appointments are offered from early morning through most of the evening, six days a week. Appointment times are exact for customer convenience.

Zoom.ca also offers a refund policy of sorts. Buyers are given five days, or 500 km, to enjoy their new purchase; if they are unsatisfied with their vehicle in any way, Zoom.ca will issue a full refund and pick it up for free without any questions asked.
