An Ontario broker received international recognition for her sales acumen at London’s Savoy recently, when she was named the Insurance Sales Award winner at the 2013 Best Women in Sales Awards.

Recognizing the most exemplary women in sales/revenue generating roles across eight business sectors from around the world, Eileen Greene, vice president and partner at HUB International HKMB Insurance Brokers, is still basking in the glow.

“It’s been a little bit of a whirlwind and certainly a lot of fun,” Greene told Insurance Business. “It’s nice to receive the recognition. I’ve been in the industry for 27 years and with HUB HKMB for six years.”

Greene, who has been with HUB since 2007, is responsible for new business development and client relationships.

A familiar face at the annual HUB’s sales leadership awards, she was honored earlier in the year with the Legend award, which recognizes those who have consistently achieved new business production at the highest levels for five consecutive years. (continued.)

“Eileen is a true leader and an inspiration to women not only within our organization and the insurance industry, but also within her community,” said Gregory Belton, chairman, HUB International HKMB Insurance Brokers. “We are proud that Eileen and Hub were recognized in the insurance category at this prestigious ceremony honoring top women across the globe, and we congratulate all 2013 Best Women in Sales Award Winners.”

Winners were selected based on a competitive evaluation by a panel of independent judges for the following criteria: general sales ability, track record in achieving and exceeding targets, and a good understanding of the implications of change on the wider business.

The awards, presented by Zars Media and previously exclusive to the European market, this year moved to include candidates from North America.

It is Greene’s international clientele that may have given her an edge over her competitors.

“I manage the entire client experience with the help of a team of experts,” said a gracious Greene. “I’ve got accounts in London, England, Calgary, Vancouver, California – so my outlook is definitely international.”
