PAL Insurance Brokers recognizes the importance of the next generation of insurance leaders – so it chose to sponsor an award promoting budding insurance careers.

Amber Morrison-Givens, PAL marketing director, said the brokerage wanted to put its name to the Insurance Business Young Gun award “because we know the great value that young people coming into the industry have.”

“We try to invest in the future of our community as much as possible,” she said, “and supporting ambitious young people in key roles in insurance seems like a great way to invest in the future and in the community.”

The Insurance Business Awards are this year being held in Toronto, on November 30. Nominations close on September 30.

“It is important to recognize ‘young guns’ in the insurance world because they truly hold the keys to the future of the quickly-evolving and growing [industry],” Morrison-Givens said.

“As technology takes a firmer and wider grasp over the industry, young people are on the forefront of harnessing innovation and technology to enhance and embolden the insurance world and allow it to move into the future in the most prepared way possible.”

Last year, InsureLine Brokers’ Aly Kanji picked up the Young Gun gong in Toronto. This year, it’s still all up for grabs. And Morrison-Givens had some advice for the industry’s newest champions.

“For young brokers in the industry, PAL’s advice for them to be successful would be to always educate themselves on new products, new technology and new innovations,” she explained. “By being open to new technology and new methods of business, young people will advance the industry and not only ensure the industry’s long-term success, but also ensure that the needs of clients will be met in the best and most efficient, innovative ways possible.”
