Insurance technology is no longer a ‘nice to have’; it’s a ‘need to have’ for companies of all shapes and sizes. In recent years, insurtech investment in Canada has helped sustain everything from underwriting platforms for property intelligence, to suites of artificial intelligence tools for automating business processes.

Now, Insurance Business Canada is celebrating 10 ‘market-leading’ tech companies that have received the nod of approval from Canada’s brokers in the IBC Five-Star Insurance Technology Providers 2021 report, available to view for free here.

To determine the best insurance technology providers of 2021, IBC and some top industry experts conducted one-on-one interviews with brokers and surveyed thousands more within IBC’s network over a period of 15 weeks, in order to gain an understanding of what insurance professionals think about the current insurance technology offerings.

Technology providers were asked to nominate their solution, explaining why it stands out against its competitors and what make it the best in the market. IBC then asked brokers to rate their overall satisfaction with the insurance technology providers they dealt with. The top-scoring technology and software providers were named Five-Star Award winners

Among this year’s winners are Insurego, an Ottawa-based tech start-up provides a modern insurance experience enhancing sales, marketing and analytics in parallel, and BlueMind, a Markham, Ontario-based company that provides an AI-powered CRM and digital office to help advisors build efficient, profitable, and compliant businesses.
